Suggest a Speaker
The LIFE at UCF Curriculum Committee develops and manages all lectures given in our class sessions. The committee is always looking for new topics and speakers for our continuing education classes. Committee members are interested in providing the broadest possible range of topics to our members. The membership is eager to find out what is new and exciting in all areas of endeavor from forensics to opera, or from nanotechnology to the latest treatment in cancer. We encourage those desiring to speak to a highly motivated and interested population of senior citizens apply to the LIFE Curriculum Committee. Lecture schedules are scheduled approximately six months in advance, so you are encouraged to submit application early.
Speakers are provided a modest honorarium for each lecture. Programs are forty-five minutes in length plus an additional 15 minutes allowed for questions and answers. Although most lectures are presented by UCF faculty members, many other experts from universities, government agencies, museums, and specialty fields are included in our programs. Presentations are limited to providing information to our members. No solicitation of products or services is allowed.
When submitting speaker suggestions, please consider the following criteria:
- Will members learn something new from this speaker?
- Is this information that members can’t find anywhere else?
- Does this topic appeal to a large audience? Does it the speaker have information that is relevant to a large geographic area?
Presentations from outside UCF should be relevant to a majority of members and not a unique interest of geographic group.
Do you know someone who could give a great presentation to LIFE? Suggest them here! Thank you for helping us improve future LIFE programming.
